Limited Visibility Sniper Training (LVST)

Course Description

Precision fire during hours of darkness and degraded visibility. Program design covers night live-fire stalks, hide-site construction under limited visibility conditions, night vision and thermal device integration, and point-of-origin detection at night. Built to your unit's current optics and sensor inventory.

Course Objectives

• Conduct night live fire stalks while remaining undetected
  
• Construct sniper hide-sites during hours of limited visibility
  
• Identify enemy sniper point of origin during hours of limited visibility
  
• Engage multiple targets at various ranges using night vision and/or thermal devices
  
• Engage multiple targets using alternate shooting positions during hours of limited visibility
  
• Complete the Target Acquisition Drill (TAD) with a score of 15 or better
  
• Demonstrate night sniper techniques and procedures during team shooting competitions
