Arid Environment Sniper Training (AEST)

Course Description

Long-range precision engagement in open, heat-affected terrain. Program design addresses extended range data gathering, arid hide-site construction, live-fire stalks, mirage reading, and point-of-origin detection in low-cover environments. Scalable to available range distances and organic equipment.

Course Objectives

• Conduct live fire stalks while remaining undetected
  
• Construct sniper hide-sites in an arid environment
  
• Identify enemy sniper point of origin within an arid environment
  
• Engage multiple targets at various distances
  
• Engage multiple targets using alternate shooting positions
  
• Complete the Target Acquisition Drill (TAD) with a score of 15 or better
  
• Demonstrate sniper techniques and procedures during team shooting competitions
