Most counter-sniper failures are not marksmanship failures. They are planning failures. A team gets the call, takes its weapons, and works the rest out in contact. Roles are unassigned. Communications have no backup. No one has named the point at which the team's own capability runs out. The plan holds until reality tests an assumption nobody labeled as an assumption, and then it does not. The fix is not a better template. A template assumes every team is the same team. The CORE Module builds each cell a plan calibrated to who is actually holding it, forcing every element of a counter-sniper operation to be confirmed and deployable before commitment, not improvised after it.
CORE is a planning and scenario module, not a range training course. There is no live fire and no marksmanship component. Participants work through a disciplined planning framework in the mornings and pressure-test their plans against escalating tabletop scenarios in the afternoons, in a controlled urban environment designed to expose the assumptions that break plans under real conditions. The instruction is delivered by Xavier Lendof, who has direct operational experience of the exact problem the Module addresses.
The Module is built for military special operations forces and conventional reconnaissance elements operating where confirmed or assessed threat sniper activity in urban terrain is a primary planning constraint. It is not a law enforcement course. Participants are expected to arrive with a working operational background. This is a planning discipline module for professionals, not an introduction to the role.
Each participant leaves with a complete counter-sniper operational plan that is theirs and no one else's. The Module does not issue a template to be filled in. It drives each two-person cell to build a plan around its own real composition, its own equipment, and its own confirmed capability, so that two cells working the same scenario arrive at meaningfully different plans, each correct for the team that built it. That specificity is the point. A generic plan is a plan that has not been tested against who is actually holding it. By the end of four days, each cell has a plan calibrated to its own strengths and its own limits, pressure-tested against scenarios designed to find the weak assumption before an operation does. Participants also leave with an individual roadmap for continued development, built from their own work across the Module. The distance between where a cell starts on day one and where it finishes is deliberate, measurable, and theirs to keep.
